Psychedelic Cannabis Therapy

Grounded in intentional cannabis use, this therapy integrates mindfulness techniques, sound and medically prescribed cannabis to induce a psychedelic-like state. This allows for deeper psychological exploration, emotional processing, and therapeutic breakthroughs.

Services to begin in Spring 2025

Process

Step 1: Initial Screening & Intake
Before beginning therapy, clients undergo an initial screening to assess eligibility. This includes:
  • Medical and psychological history 
  • Evaluation of cannabis tolerance and past experiences
  • Establishing therapy goals and expectations
Clients will be referred to an OHIP covered doctor for medically prescribed cannabis prior to psychedelic cannabis sessions.
Step 2: Mindfulness Based Therapy

To prepare for the psychedelic cannabis session, clients will complete Stage One of Mindfulness-Integrated Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MiCBT). Typically 4-5 therapy sessions. This foundational work includes:

  • Developing mindfulness skills to enhance self-awareness and emotional regulation

  • Learning distress tolerance and cognitive restructuring techniques

  • Establishing a solid mental framework for the psychedelic session

Step 3: Psychedelic Preparation Session

This session ensures that clients are fully prepared for their psychedelic experience:

  • Reviewing insights from mindfulness-based psychotherapy

  • Deepening practice and intention-setting practices

  • Discussing expectations, fears, and potential experiences

  • Guidance on navigating challenging emotions and altered states

Step 4: Psychedelic Cannabis Session

A guided session designed to induce deep introspection and emotional processing:

  • Intention-Setting: Establishing therapeutic focus

  • Cannabis Ingestion: Using medically prescribed cannabis

  • Guided Mindfulness with music: Facilitating expanded states of consciousness

  • Therapeutic Support: Holding space for emotions, memories, and insights

  • Reintegration: Gradual return to everyday awareness

Step 5: Integration & Going Deeper

ntegration is essential for applying the insights gained from the psychedelic session into daily life. This session includes:

  • Guided Reflection: Exploring key themes and emotions from the experience

  • Practical Application: Identifying how insights can be implemented in everyday life

  • Mindfulness & Grounding Techniques: Strengthening self-awareness and emotional regulation

  • Continuing with MiCBT and additional psychedelic cannabis sessions after each stage as necessary.

Community Based Non-Therapeutic Cannabis Exploration Sessions

For those interested in non-therapeutic, community-based approaches to personal growth and mindfulness with psychedelic cannabis, I invite you to explore Greening the Mind. Their mission is to empower individuals through mindfulness and intentional cannabis use, offering guided experiences and education to support transpersonal change. While psychedelic cannabis therapy focuses on structured psychological treatnment, Greening the Mind provides opportunities for exploration, self-discovery, and holistic well-being in a safe, non-clinical and supportive environment.

Community-based exploration sessions should not be confused with Psychedelic Cannabis Therapy, which is a professional therapeutic service. My community based work is non-therapeutic and  does not constitute medical advice or serve as a substitute for psychiatric care. All work, therapeutic and community based, is conducted in compliance with local laws and professional ethical standards.
